Revenants and Dwarf Spears are ready

Two more units have been added to my Oathmark armies.

15 Dwarven Spears

The first is a unit of Dwarven Spears made with the Dwarf Infantry box from North Star Figures. These were assembled and primed when I was still living in Calgary. I put together 15 of them but didn’t make a banner bearer for the unit. And, in fact, only made 14 regular Dwarven spears. The 15th model is one of the metal champions. So it is an odd unit and will have to be properly filled out when I pick up a new Dwarven Infantry box.

The models were all primed with an Army Painter metallic silver primer. So no Speedpaint for these fellows. So a wash, some drybrusing on the metal and then base/shade/highlight on the rest of the features.

16 Revenant Warriors

Also added were 15 Revenant Warriors and a Revenant Warrior Champion. These are Mummy Guard miniatures from Max Mini. These minis have quite a lot of detail on them and if/when I do more of them I will paint them differently. There is a fair amount of detail on the figures that I, for some reason, decided to paint in different colours when it didn’t really require it. So I complicated the painting process and really sucked the fun out of them.

After taking this photo I did a wash with 1/1 Agrax Earthshade and water to help unify the colours and add a bit more shading in some of the areas that didn’t get enough when I was applying the Speedpaints.

Undead General

This figure was not only a breeze to paint with the Speedpaints but also looks much better than this photo shows 1. The model doesn’t have any wrapping on the horses head so I tried to make it look rotted and diseased. The feathering that I tried to do on the ears didn’t work the way I wanted but overall it has a suitably grim look to it.

The colours really do pop and I have finally managed to paint the Speedpaints on a large area without getting it to pool in the recesses. In Oathmark games this fellow may be on his own in the middle of the army helping units to activate. In Age of Fantasy I will probably attach it to a unit of cavalry and give it weapons with poison to help cut down opponents.

Next on the table are two units of Goblin Slaves.
