Basing some Undead
All of the Undead troop miniatures that I purchased were put on 20mm square bases. I think they were being used in 9th Age. Oathmark uses 25mm squares as the smallest base size and even if that wasn’t the case I would have been rebasing these in any case. I find that 20mm bases are just too cramped.
The models were all on a mix of resin and MDF bases. The resin bases had a Khemri theme to them and the MDF bases had glyphs and images pressed into green stuff. Perhaps they used a roller?
Happily they are all fairly easy to remove from their original bases. I only lost a handful of models to breakage. They were then put on 25mm MDF bases from WarbasesWarbases and then I added some Dark Earth texture paint from AK. That was drybrushed after I let them dry overnight and then I added some spots of green flock. This is the same process that I used for the movement trays that they are on in the photos.

Some characters and monsters
Oathmark doesn’t have any rules for the standard Khemri units such as Ushtabi and Undead giants. So these models will be added to the Undead army as a Giant and a unit of Animated Statues. The character in the front will be the Undead General and the red model with the ball of flame in its hand is a Corpse Fire. The model is a Kheris model from Conquest. I have a unit of six of them that I wasn’t using so I repurposed one for Oathmark. I don’t know if the Corpse Fire is the most effective unit to add to the army but it seems like it would be fun in a game.
Some time ago my wife purchased a light box to use for some photography she wanted to do. I managed to borrow it from her to take some photos of these Undead. It is a decent light box for the price but I am using the default camera app on iOS and it doesn’t have the ability to set a white point. Consequently all of the photos have a blue tint to them that was quite difficult to remove. I may have to pick up a camera app like Halide to be able to overcome this issue.
If you check out the Oathmark project page you can see that I have also added 20 Ghouls to the Undead force. I watched a video on the Ash & Stone Youtube channel that had some Ghouls in an Undead force. They looked like a fun unit. I have 20 Mummy Shambler miniatures that were partially painted. These are probably not the best models for Ghouls since they don’t look very quick. In the long term I may use the Tomb Jackals instead but that requires a purchase as I only have ten of them at the moment.
I finished up the Mummys last night and they are just waiting to be based.
Next up I think I will paint some Dwarves or Elves.
